Manchester United have agreed a £60million deal with Chelsea for the signing of Mason Mount.
The total final package includes a £55m fee up front and a further £5m worth of add-ons, with the England midfielder poised to undergo a medical at Old Trafford next week.
Mount is expected to sign a five-year contract at United, who had been targeting the 24-year-old as their first major signing of the summer window for Erik ten Hag.
The popular academy graduate had entered the final 12 months of his current deal at Stamford Bridge and was unable to agree an extension despite talks with Blues co-owner Todd Boehly last season.
Mount had been keen to join United and was prepared to leave Chelsea on a free transfer next summer if an agreement could not be reached in this window.
United had previously looked set to walk away from talks having failed with two previous bids for Mount and seen a third take-it-or-leave it offer worth £55m rebuffed last week.
Chelsea presented a counter-proposal to their Premier League rivals of £58m plus £7m in add-ons, also offering to meet face to face in order to smooth out negotiations.
United moved to resurrect talks in recent days and have now managed to secure a more favourable deal, having been unwilling to meet Chelsea’s initial demands for a player with less than a year left on his contract. The Blues had initially wanted to bank £70m for Mount.

Chelsea had a deadline of June 30 to include Mount’s sale in their financial accounts for the 2022/23 season, joining a growing overhaul at the Bridge that has already seen the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly and Edouard Mendy depart, with N’Golo Kante, Hakim Ziyech and Ruben Loftus-Cheek all set to follow, plus likely many more including Christian Pulisic.
Mount is the third Chelsea player sold to a direct rival this week, following Mateo Kovacic’s £25m move to Manchester City and Kai Havertz’s £65m switch to Arsenal.
Chelsea are expected to move for Gabri Veiga after agreeing to sell Mount, with the Celta Vigo starlet possessing a release clause in his current deal at Balaidos worth just £34.6m. They are also pushing hard to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton, a player also linked with United, and have agreed deals for wingers Nicolas Jackson and Angelo Gabriel from Villarreal and Santos respectively.
