Mason Mount makes unexpected decision as Chelsea stars respond to social update amid transfer

It's a case of new season, new Mason Mount as the Chelsea star has made a slightly radical change whilst on holiday. Having been away at the Spanish Grand Prix last weekend, meeting up with Ben Chilwell, Reece James and Joao Felix, he is making the most of some time off.

He can't escape the intense speculation over his future, though. Mount is out of contract in just over 12 months and has a group of clubs fighting to sign him. Manchester United are leading the way in that regard and are preparing a bid. Arsenal are also interested and Liverpool have shown their own admiration.

With Chelsea waiting for Mount to return before a final decision is made, Mauricio Pochettino will be keenly hoping for a change of direction with this as he prepares to take over officially on July 1 ahead of pre-season. In the meantime, Mount is still enjoying his rest and recovery.

He is now sporting a new hairstyle which mirrors that of the popular Paul Gascoigne style that became the rage in 2021 during the Euros. Mount didn't join the group sporting it at that time but has done now.

In a post captioned: "Tranquilo" he shows off the new cut and blonde, bleached style. It is quite the change from his normal brown fashion choice and has caught the eye, too. Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal has followed in what is a flashback to 2021.

His decision hasn't gone unnoticed either with former Chelsea stars Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham both responding to the post. "Oh blondie [eyes emoji]" wrote the England defender whilst Abraham said: "The boyyy [fire emoji]."

They are far from the only ones to comment. Kai Havertz was also quick to respond whilst reported Chelsea transfer target James Maddison gave him a new nickname.

"Willllll the real slim shady please stand up," he wrote. After being relegated with Leicester he is set to be lining up for England without Mount, who was left out of the most recent squad. His mind is set to be more on his future which promises to be one of the biggest stories of the summer.
