Mason Mount gives first impressions of Manchester United following transfer

New Manchester United recruit Mason Mount has admitted that he has been really impressed by the wam welcome he has received following his move to Old Trafford.

The 24-year-old completed his move to United from Chelsea on Wednesday and signed a five-year contract with the option of an additional year. United claim they saw off interest from Liverpool and Arsenal to agree personal terms with Mount in May. The England international showed a "strong desire" to join the club.

Chelsea had demanded £58million up front and an additional £7m in add-ons but United agreed a deal of £55m rising to £60m. They will now be hoping that his arrival will mark the beginning of a flurry of transfer activity.

Mount, reflecting on the welcome he has received at the club, told MUTV: "It has been an amazing couple of days, obviously coming here, seeing everyone and meeting everyone at the training ground. I got such a warm welcome.

"I feel very much at home already. It is a huge club, but also so close, where it is like a family and I can feel that straight away."

Mount cut his summer holiday short to finalise the move to Old Trafford, highlighting his desire to get the deal done. His family joined him in Manchester to complete the move and he has detailed just how excited they are by the next chapter in his career.

"They have been so excited. They have been messaging me and couldn't wait to get up here, take it all in, see Old Trafford, see the training ground and have look around the place.

"We are obviously very happy we are up here now and getting to see everything."
