Mason Mount has spoken out about the 'exciting' new era at Chelsea after a final agreement for the Todd Boehly/Clearlake Capital consortium to takeover the club was announced on Saturday.
A statement on the club's website read: "Chelsea Football Club can confirm that a final and definitive agreement was entered into last night to sell the Club to the Todd Boehly/Clearlake Capital consortium. It is expected that the transaction will be completed on Monday. The Club will update further at that time."
The announcement puts an end to a period of uncertainty in west London that has played on the players' and fans' minds for a long while. Now, Mount has said that after a difficult end to the season, he's excited to move forward into this new era under.

"We were in and around it until midway through, disappointing that we fell off a bit. That’s obviously the goal for next season, we want to close the gap and be up there," he told Sky Sports.
"It’s an exciting time now with the owners confirmed today. Going forward it’s going to be exciting. The era under Roman (Abramovich) has been brilliant and now we look forward. It’s exciting and I can’t wait to get back to it."
Roman Abramovich's time at the club is set to officially come to an end after nearly two decades. Whether the Blues can match the success they had under his ownership remains to be seen but they'll be hoping to do so.
