Mason Greenwood puts house up for let in huge hint over Man Utd future

Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood has reportedly put his house on the market, fuelling speculation that he could be about to change clubs.

Greenwood has not played for United since January 2022 after being charged with one count of attempted rape, a count of assault and repeatedly engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour. All charges were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service in February after key witnesses withdrew and new evidence came to light.

The 21-year-old remains suspended by United, who are conducting an internal investigation over the allegations, which he denied. Greenwood is under contract with United for another two years and the club are still paying him £100,000 per week. However, there has recently been speculation he could leave the club for a fresh start abroad.

The Sun now reports that Greenwood’s mansion in Cheshire has been circulated among local letting agents. The six-bedroom and six-bathroom property, which has a games room, a home office and a gym, has an asking price of £15,000 per month.

Greenwood has been spotted training with a private coach recently in an effort to stay fit. On Thursday he was photographed working on his control skills and shooting during a 90-minute session at a public sports centre.

United are understood to be supportive of Greenwood training individually and could make a decision over his future before Erik ten Hag's players will start reporting back for pre-season on July 3.

Mirror Football understands that once the internal investigation is completed, United will speak to stakeholders to gauge their opinion on the decision made. These include commercial partners, supporters and members of United's WSL squad, to ensure the decision is met with the approval of all parties.

Greenwood was included in United’s list of retained players recently in a confirmation of his status with his boyhood club.

He has scored 22 goals in 83 Premier League appearances for United since making his debut in March 2019. The striker also has one senior England cap to his name, which came against Iceland in September 2020.
