Masked Singer sleuth rumbles Mushroom identity after Dame Shirley Bassey ‘feud clue'

A Masked Singer super sleuth has shared the clues he believes links Mushroom to Charlotte Church after sharing his final predictions with his TikTok followers.

TikTok star Matthew Seaman has correctly guessed all the singing competition’s hidden celebrities, with one exception from last year's ITV series.

He most recently impressed fans by correctly predicting the latest axed contestants Aled Jones as Traffic Cone and Michelle Williams as Rockhopper.

Matthew, or @1matts, has now shared with his 29,000 followers a round-up of the clues he believes links Mushroom to Welsh singer Charlotte Church.

In his latest TikTok video, Matthew told fans: “I’ve got to give the people what they want. It’s time for some final clues that link Charlotte Church to Mushroom.”

One clue from the ITV show saw Mushroom saying: “Do I care what people think? Honestly, I don’t give a dame.”

Matthew suggested that this could touch on Charlotte Church’s spat with Dame Shirley Bassey, after the fellow Welsh singer urged her to take a break from music in an interview with the Daily Telegraph in 2005.

In another clip from Mushroom’s clue package, they said: “Without meaning to labour the point, mushrooms are the observers of the woodlands.”

Matthew pointed out that the word ‘labour’ could be referring to the fact that Charlotte Church toured the UK in 2016 to support Jeremy Corbyn's bid to become Prime Minister after endorsing him the year before.

Alternatively, the word could be a reference to the fact that Charlotte gave birth outdoors in a woodland.

Mushroom later said: “I once gave a speech to a quarter of a million people. It’s important to stand up for what you believe in.”

Matthew flagged this as a reference to Charlotte’s rousing speech against Tory cuts, which she gave to 250,000 campaigners in 2015.

He told his followers: “Find me people who have also given speeches to 250,000 people, because that’s not just a clue, that’s a fact about her.”

Another clue came in the form of the 1:28 alarm clock time stamp, which could have been solved as a reference to her first album, which reached the 28th ranking in the US charts.

Ahead of next week’s final Matthew shared a thorough run down of who he believes each performer is with OK Online, predicting Panda is Neighbours actress and pop singer Natalie Imbruglia while Robobunny is Westlife’s Mark Feehily.

The Masked Singer returns for the grand finale on Saturday on ITV at 7pm
