OFFICERS are appealing for information after a 20-year-old was seriously injured by a man in a mask in Balloch over the bank holiday weekend.
Police received a report of a 20-year-old man being assaulted on Duncan Mills Memorial Slipway, Loch Lomond, at around 6pm on Sunday, May 24.
The man was in the vicinity of the ranger post, when he was approached by another man who got out of a Range Rover and assaulted him with a bladed weapon.
He was taken to hospital for treatment to a serious injury.
The suspect is described as around 6ft 2in, wearing black joggers, a black hoodie with the hood up and a mask.
Detective Constable Calum Hall said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this incident, and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident and who hasn’t already spoken to officers to get in touch.
“I would also ask anyone who was in the area and who may have dash cam or private CCTV that could assist to contact us.
“We understand that this was a terrifying incident for the man and others present at the time. We believe this was an isolated incident, however additional patrols will be carried out in the area.”
