Masa Israel Journey Introduces ‘Masa Engine’ Job Search Site For Alumni

Masa Israel Journey on Monday launched the “Masa Engine,” a first-of-its-kind job search site designed for the organization’s alumni who are seeking positions in Jewish nonprofits and Israeli high-tech companies.

According to Wikipedia, Masa Israel Journey is a public-service organization founded by the Prime Minister’s Office of the Government of Israel, together with The Jewish Agency for Israel. Masa Israel is the leading organization in the long term Israel experience space, with a range of 2-to-12-month study, service, and career development programs for young Jews from Diaspora.

Companies with job postings on the platform include Wix, Outbrain, SodaStream and Monday.com. Participants can find positions in Israel and across the globe.

“Our mission is to connect people to Israel for life, and that includes professional life,” said Masa CEO Ofer Gutman.

“Young adults who spend at least four months in Israel participating in a long-term program are more likely to be engaged with their Judaism,” said Masa. The programs foster Jewish continuity even among those who weren’t engaged in Jewish life before their participation in Masa programs.

A recent Masa survey showed that 92% of alumni with children will raise their children Jewish, and eight-in-10 agree strongly with the statement, “Being Jewish is an important part of my life.”

When Jennifer Handel was growing up, she didn’t engage in any Jewish formative activities. But once she participated in Masa ETF, a long-term young professionals program in Israel, everything changed. “Without my Masa program, I would not have the life I have today at all,” said Handel as reported by JNS.

According to a new study from Masa Israel Journey, young adults who spend at least four months in Israel participating in a long-term program are more likely to be engaged with their Judaism. These programs, which are designed for young adults of all Jewish affiliations, are fostering Jewish continuity and the next generation of proud Jews—even among those who weren’t engaged in Jewish life at all prior to their participation, just like Handel.
