Mary Kennedy kicked off 2023 with a New Years Day walk with family, including her famous singer nephew, Dermot Kennedy.
The former RTE host posted snaps from a family get together in the outdoors over the weekend to celebrate the occasion.
Sharing snippets of their walk, Mary said: “New Year’s Day fun!!”

The presenter, who hosted Nationwide for years before retiring from the broadcaster, looked chic and cosy in an animal print coat and red scarf as she smiled for photos alongside her nearest and dearest.
Her nephew Dermot was also beaming with joy on the day out with his aunt and cousins as he posed with one of the kids on his shoulders for the family forest walk.
Mary has previously opened up about their close relationship, and told how her daughter Lucy works with Dermot on the road as his photographer, and said “We’re a very close family’.
The TV host also told how musical talent runs in the family after she previously released a Christmas song for charity with her sister Deirdre.
Mary told how she has spent many nights singing around the piano with her superstar nephew, but ruled out the chance of a family duet.
She told Irish Daily Mirror: “It's funny, all the time I was filming nationwide, I would just always be humming or singing something.
“And the crew would always say ‘ohh’ and I didn’t even realise it.
“I love going to concerts and to gigs and sure we have our ready made singer in the family now with Dermot.
“On my fathers side one was an opera singer, and a cousin who was a beautiful singer, and his sister was a beautiful singer.
“And there would always be sing songs and gatherings, at Christmas particularly.”
Mary said Danny Boy is usually her go to party piece with her sister, but said she has also enjoyed some duets with the Giants singer.
However, asked if he will feature in her next musical release, she said: “I don’t think so. But we do do it at Christmas in the house, we would.
“Ah we have had some lovely sing songs around the piano at their house.
“He sang at my daughter's wedding and at my son's wedding and it’s lovely and a family thing.
“It’s caring and in a good way, doing it for your family and you can and it is special."
