Insomniac Games has a massive treat for all fans of the most famous web-head in comic book history as "Marvel's Spider-Man 2" is getting a freebie suit based on the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film, "Spider-Man: Brand New Day."
'Marvel's Spider-Man 2' Free Suit Coming Next Month
According to the latest announcement from Insomniac Games via X, a new suit for Peter Parker will be available to download in "Marvel's Spider-Man 2" starting Tuesday, July 28, via a free content update.
The suit, dubbed the "Fresh Start" costume, features highly detailed textures from head to toe, with Spider-Man's iconic spider symbol front and center, along with web shooters under each wrist.
The new suit for Peter Parker is based on the MCU's upcoming movie, which has Tom Holland reprising his role as the friendly neighborhood hero based in New York City.
This is not the first free outfit Insomniac has rolled out for the game. As of writing, ten free suits are already available for "Marvel's Spider-Man 2" players to pick from, and the Fresh Start costume will bring that total up to eleven.
Following its October 2023 launch as a timed PS5 exclusive, the game sold over five million copies worldwide within its first two weeks and has continued receiving free content drops well past its initial release window.

Insomniac's Tie-In With 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day'
The Fresh Start costume is inspired by the suit Peter Parker wears in "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," the upcoming Marvel Studios film hitting theaters on July 31. The suit's in-game release lands just three days ahead of the movie, lining up the digital freebie with the film's theatrical debut.
"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" is the 38th feature film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is part of the franchise's sixth phase. The story is set four years after the events of "Spider-Man: No Way Home."
Insomniac is currently also gearing up for the September launch of "Marvel's Wolverine" on PS5, but the studio is still finding time to support its earlier Spider-Man title with fresh content tied to the wider Marvel universe.
How to Claim the Free Movie Suit
Fans will need to wait until July 28 for the suit to become available, as it is tied to a scheduled content update rather than an immediate unlock. The Fresh Start suit will be available in both the PS5 and PC versions of "Marvel's Spider-Man 2," so players on either platform can expect access once the update goes live.
Players will need to have purchased the game on PS5 or PC to claim it since the suit is not part of a separate standalone release. Once the update is downloaded and installed, the Fresh Start suit should be available for players to redeem, most likely through the in-game store or a notification delivered via in-game mail, consistent with how previous free suit drops have been handled.
From there, the suit can be equipped through the Suits tab of the game's main menu. Since the costume is tied specifically to the movie, players should not expect any additional color variants or alternate styles bundled alongside it.
