In an exciting turn of events, a new actor has been announced as part of Marvel Studios' upcoming Thunderbolts project in Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Geraldine Viswanathan, a rising star known for her roles in Blockers, Miracle Workers, and Hala, has joined the cast, replacing the previously attached Ayo Edebiri. The news came after Edebiri had to step down from the project due to scheduling conflicts. Viswanathan expressed her gratitude to Edebiri for creating the opportunity for her to make her MCU debut.
The Thunderbolts project, initially announced by Marvel Studios' chief Kevin Feige in July 2022, has undergone some changes since its inception. Previously, Steven Yeun and Ayo Edebiri were set to star in undisclosed roles but had to depart from the project due to other commitments. While Yeun has been replaced by Lewis Pullman as the Sentry, Viswanathan will now fill the role previously held by Edebiri.
