Marvel Rivals season 6 patch notes: Deadpool, hero proficiency overhaul, new Team-Up abilities, and more

Deadpool enters the stage in Marvel Rivals season 6 alongside a major overhaul to the hero proficiency system and a couple of balancing changes. There’s a lot to go through with more content arriving in the coming weeks.

Here’s everything coming to Marvel Rivals in season 6, Night at the Museum, launching on Jan. 16.

Biggest changes in Marvel Rivals season 6

  • Deadpool is the first triple-role hero, with abilities varying depending on the role you choose him in.
  • Hero proficiency now has 70 levels for you to grind through, with rewards like Units and nameplate frames.
  • Invisible Woman and Gambit receive nerfs to their shields and healing, respectively.

In Marvel Rivals, Deadpool not only breaks the fourth wall but also the entire role system by being the first triple-role hero. You can select him as a Vanguard, Duelist, or Strategist, with abilities varying depending on the role.

The gameplay trailer showed him wielding double pistols and double swords, using a sword throw, a unicorn plushie to give out shields (when playing as a Vanguard), and more. But the most important part is Deadpool’s skill book, which you can use to upgrade his skills as the match goes on, as if it were an RPG.

Deadpool’s Ultimate requires maximum effort for you to fight as fancy as possible and increase its tier from E to S. The Ultimates vary depending on the role. However, all of them require you to hit a certain number of abilities within a timeframe to get a buff.

Some of the other things shown in the gameplay reveal include an ability that obstructs the enemy’s vision with cartoon Deadpools all over the screen, an AoE field with different effects, and the ability to take a selfie with the defeated player, during which Deadpool is seemingly immune. All of them feature 4th-wall-breaking animations and quips, just as you’d expect from Wade.
