Martin Roberts breaks down in emotional video with dilemma over dad's ashes

Martin Roberts shared an emotional video to his fans as he asked for help to solve a dilemma about his dad's ashes.

The Homes Under The Hammer star, 59, announced in March that his beloved father had passed away at the age of 90.

In his latest post to Instagram, Martin had tears rolling down his face as he admitted: "Right now I feel really alone and horrible."

He then pleaded to fans: "Any words you've got would be appreciated."

Martin has taken to social media again, seeking the support of his followers.

In an effort to give his dad a proper send-off, Martin's friend made a "beautiful box" for the ashes to be buried in.

The TV property expert said he would be making the journey to Warrington, so that he could bury his father in the same grave as his late mum.

Yet, Martin came against a conundrum as the box was too small to hold all his dad's ashes.

He filmed the amount of ashes left over and said: "The box is already full. I mean, if it wasn't so terrible, I'd be crying right now."

Martin asked: "What do I do? I've got to bury dad's ashes with mum because that's what he wanted. But the box... is full?"

Pacing the room, the presenter added: "It's a weird one. My mum and dad would be absolutely wetting themselves laughing at this point. So maybe I'll ask them what to do, I will say a little prayer."

Martin was flooded with support and suggestions from his followers, one said: "I would scatter the remaining ashes in a place they loved. I knew someone who scattered ashes on a windy day and was absolutely covered after upturning the urn.

"She had to walk back to the car covered in ash, drive home to shower. . The love was there though."

"Whatever you decide, it's just their ashes. Their spirit will forever surround you. Take comfort in their love and memories," another added.

He joked his parents would find his dilemma funny (@TVMartinRoberts/Twitter)

One person wrote: "Aw your mum and dad are having a proper laugh with you about this and that’s lovely. I would put most of the ashes in the box and scatter the rest on top."

A fourth suggested:' "Why not have a piece of memorial jewellery made?"

"Maybe inter the box deeper into the ground, scatter remaining ashes on top of the box place lid over the entire hole. I hope that makes sense," wrote another.

Someone else commented: "Martin, whatever you decide to do I’m sure it will be the best decision. Go with you heart. God bless mate."

Taking to Twitter once again, Martin gave an update to his followers.

Martin announced the sad news of his dad's death on Instagram (Instagram)

He said: "We buried Dad's ashes yesterday. Thank you so much for all your love, kind words and suggestions on what to do with the ashes that wouldn't fit in the casket.

"We put the casket in the bottom and then I decided I'd get everybody who was there, who wanted to, to scatter the rest of the remains, from a plastic bag, around, as lots of you had suggested.

"So that's what we did."

Martin also found his mum's ashes from 20 years ago in the grave, and so mixed his parents ashes together, saying they are "forever entwined."
