Martin O'Neill has urged Reo Hatate to "get going" and regain his form.

Hatate, who featured as a substitute in Celtic's 3-0 win over LASK in the Champions League play-off, has rejected approaches from clubs in Greece, Austria, and the United States.

However, O'Neill has not confirmed if the midfielder will stay at Celtic beyond the transfer deadline. He said: "That I don’t know, and there are a lot of things that can happen between now and the third of September.

"There’s usually maybe something might just happen at the time, so I don’t want to be saying something to you.

"If he’s still here at the football club, come on, just get going, get going, be the player that you were a couple of years ago."

O'Neill also highlighted Hatate's substitution as a sign of his importance to the team. He said: "I think the point is that we showed we brought him on, so he was like first change at the end of the day.

"He's been a regular member of the side for a couple of years, hasn't been so regular recently.

"It’s up to him to fight through."
