Martin O’Neill is determined to strengthen Celtic's squad before the transfer deadline.
This comes despite their failure to qualify for the Champions League. The Celtic boss is keen on bringing in reinforcements for their Europa League campaign, where they will face tough opponents like Benfica and Marseille.
When asked if their Champions League exit might deter potential signings, O’Neill said, "I’m hoping that’s not the case. We’re still trying to get some players in.
"We would need a few to supplement the squad for the European matches."
After the Europa League draw on Friday, Celtic are set to visit Benfica and host Marseille in Glasgow.

O’Neill believes the calibre of their Europa League rivals highlights the need for more squad depth, despite missing out on the Champions League. He said. "Benfica’s performance against Hearts would show that they are probably a Champions League team.
"With Marseille, you could go on forever; the competition is still very strong."
The Irish manager, drawing from his own experience, acknowledged that the quality of teams in the Europa League can match those in the Champions League, though the financial rewards differ.
He added, "I’ve known from the past that a number of teams in this competition could easily take their place in the Champions League, but the prestige is not the same.
"I’m hoping that we can get some people in before the transfer deadline."
