Martin Lewis unimpressed as Holly Willoughby tells him he is wrong in a 'brave' message

Martin Lewis was left unimpressed when he appeared on This Morning as Holly Willoughby told him he was wrong.

The money guru, 51, appeared on the daytime show on Tuesday to answer callers queries, but Holly, 42, was left asking a "brave" question.

During the segment, Holly read out a caller question for Martin to answer as she co-hosted alongside Phillip Schofield.

"A viewer says 'I am under the weekly income threshold of under £214.60 but when I called the helpline I was told very abruptly that Martin Lewis was wrong..." she said.

Holly added: "That's a brave person. Anyway, they were told they needed to be in receipt of Attendance Allowance which they are in the process of applying for and waiting for the forms to come through.

"I am so confused. This is about Pension Credit... what is the confusion here?"

Putting his head in his hands, Martin replied: "OK. Pension Credit. That is a very, very annoying message to get. And I will explain again - there is a confusion here and I am also very unhappy to hear what the Pension Credit hotline has said."

The comments come after rumours of a 'feud' between co-stars Phillip Schofield and Holly.

There have been reports of a 'bloodbath' incoming this summer at the ITV's mid-morning show amid reports that the pair's friendship has 'cooled'.

Phil released a bombshell statement, where he said the past few weeks had been tough for both him and Holly but vowed that they were still great friends and always supported one another.

On Wednesday's show, Phil had to present part of the programme alone as Holly headed off to Buckingham Palace.

Phil told viewers that Holly would be leaving at midday to help with the Prince's Trust Awards, whilst he would remain at the helm of the ITV show for the last half an hour.

A source recently told The Mirror: "Phil’s position is looking increasingly precarious. Monday is very much D-day, but the same could apply to any day next week. No one is bigger than the brand."

Insiders have claimed that Phillip is facing the axe from the show if the on-screen chemistry he shares with Holly is off.

A source told The Sun: " This Morning is preparing for some seismic changes this summer — and Phil is lined up as the first major name for the chop when his contract expires this summer. It’s highly unlikely he’ll be back in September."

They revealed ITV is planning for a "new look This Morning" as many "feel it is time for some fresh blood" on the show, with This Morning boss Martin Frizell, who has been in charge since 2016, also reportedly facing the chop.

Holly has also considered quitting This Morning to protect herself, with a source telling The Mirror: "By removing herself from the situation she could protect herself better.

"Holly is sick of being lied to. She feels trapped. She knows she could easily find another job at a different channel, so it’s up to ITV to give her assurances that she’ll be taken care of if she stays put."
