Martin Lewis was furious during his latest This Morning phone in as a caller told him she was paying for a mistake made by her energy company. The Money-Saving Expert got irate during the ITV show, on Tuesday, April 25, as caller, Lisa, phoned in to seek his advice over an issue she experienced with her energy company which had her paying for a mistake they had made.
On his weekly segment on the morning show, which is presented by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, Lisa told Martin, after receiving correspondence from her unnamed energy company that prices were rising - which was expected - she received an email that stated they had made a technical error and that the price increase had not been applied to her bill and that they would be taking the money "now".
The caller said: "I'm on a pay-as-you-go meter with no indication of what amount has been taken. Just a 'woops'."

Martin, looking perplexed, said: "I mean, that's horrendous practice. So, let me understand this. They say they are going to take the money on the pre-payment meter? They are going to increase your rates to get back the money owed? How are they proposing taking this cash?"
She replied: "They haven't explained it in the e-mail. I have read in between the lines and they are going to take a certain amount each week off the pay-as-you-go meter."
Shaking his head with a crumpled frown, Martin added: "It's absolutely horrendous behaviour. There is a back billing rule. I'm not sure there is any specific rule that covers this. Apart from that you need to be treated fairly. I'm not going to answer this on show. .I want to look at it properly."
Asking her to get in touch with This Morning's producers to send her details through to him, Martin added: "I will get in touch that energy firm and I will get in touch with Ofgem - it sounds an unfair process. This was a price rise that affected everybody in the country. To tell you, you have to pay more on the back end because they couldn't get their act together, seems outrageous. And it should not work that way.
"We won't name and shame the company now in case there is something missing," he added before the presenters suggested he return next week to discuss this issue in more depth.
