Martin Lewis fans have shared their hacks to slash the time it takes to dry their washing without using a tumble dryer.
Mr Lewis returned to our screens on Tuesday night with a special episode of his Money Show Live on ITV. The bulk of the programme was geared towards providing tips and tricks to help households become more energy efficient amid the cost of living crisis.
Energy prices have soared continuously, and despite some government intervention, energy bills are still almost double what they were this time last year.

Ahead of the Money Show Live, Mr Lewis took to Twitter to ask fans for their best tips to save energy. The tweet was inundated with replies, many of which referred to washing and drying clothes.
Deanne said: "After I have done a load of washing I always put the load on an extra spin to get more water out of the clothes will be quicker to dry then", to which Dashie replied: "I love this one, my grandma taught me this one. Very handy if you're putting your clothes on a maiden to try, knocks about six hours off the drying time".
Adrian said: "Continue to hang your washing outside in winter when the weather allows. Might only be 80% dry but that's 80% less energy required in the tumble dryer." Tenerife7722 said: "Get a clothes airer. I’ve not had my dryer on since 2021.
"It’s about being organised in advance, have uniforms etc washed & dry ready for when you need them. It’s just a bit of forward planning. Residual air temp in house dries clothes quicker than I anticipated"
It seems the tips could save people a small fortune. During the show, the Money Saving Expert founder explained tumble dryers are the "biggest energy user in our houses".
