An easyJet customer has explained how they reclaimed £440 from the airline after their flights were cancelled.
If your flight has been cancelled, you may be due compensation from the airline - this is on top of a new flight.
It all depends on when your flight was cancelled, how long your journey has been disrupted by, as well as the distance of your trip.
The flyer, known only as Helen, shared her experience with flight compensation with Martin Lewis’ MoneySavingExpert website.
She said it only took five minutes to complete the form she needed to claim her money.
Helen said: "I got £440 in compensation for cancelled Easyjet flights using your tool, and it only took five minutes to complete the form. Thanks Martin."
Tens of thousands of passengers have been affected by cancellations and delays at airports over May and into June.
There are fears summer holidays will be affected due to the airport disruption.
The issue is being linked to the thousands of jobs that were cut in the travel industry during the pandemic, as well as increased demand for holidays now restrictions have been lifted.
If your holiday has been disrupted, here's what you need to know...
Compensation for cancelled flights
Your original flight must be cancelled by the airline within 14 days before you were due to depart in order to be entitled to compensation.
The time difference of the alternative flight compared to the original booking, and the length of your journey, is then taken into account to determine any money owed.
Here is how it breaks down, with the hours being a reference to the time difference of your alternative flight versus your original booking.
For flights cancelled 7 to 14 days before departure:
- Flight length 0 to 1,500km - leaves two or more hours before, lands up to two hours after - €125 (£110)

Compensation is only awarded for EU/UK airlines and it must be the airline’s fault that the flight could not go ahead.
You should contact the airline directly if you think you're due compensation. MoneySavingExpert also has a free online claims form that you can use.
If you're not happy with the airline's response, you can escalate your complaint to Civil Aviation Authority.
