Martin Lewis 'apologises' as thousands call on him to become chancellor

This morning (July 7) it has been announced that Boris Johnson will step down as Prime Minister.

It comes as more than 50 MPs resigned from government or party roles since Tuesday (July 5) with newly appointed Education Secretary, Michelle Donelan, quitting just 26 hours after being appointed by Johnson himself.

With many people now handing in their letters, minds now turn to who will replace them - and it seems Twitter wants Martin Lewis to take on one of the roles.
