Schalke keeper Martin Fraisl is reportedly on Rangers ' radar as he enters the final few months of his contract.
But the Ibrox side are facing competition from the Premier League and across Europe for the 28-year-old.
Gio van Bronckhorst is in the market for a new shot-stopper with uncertainty growing over the future of No.1 Allan McGregor.
Jon McLaughlin extended his deal to 2024 but McGregor, who turned 40 last week, is yet to commit beyond the end of the season.
Austrian stopper Fraisl arrived at Schalke from ADO Den Haag in the summer on a one-year deal and has recently established himself with the Bundesliga.2 promotion chasers.
And the Daily Mail say he has emerged as an option for Rangers who are "monitoring" his situation closely.
But it's also claimed Premier League side Norwich are keen as are various clubs across Europe.
Fraisl has kept five clean sheets in his 14 appearances this season and the experienced stopper is believed to be keeping his options open.
Should Schalke, currently 5th in the German second tier, fail to gain promotion back to the Bundesliga then their hopes of keeping him look slim.
