Married at First Sight UK ventured into Love Island territory on Wednesday, October 12, as its episode ended on a tense cliffhanger. The E4 social experiment concluded with couple Sophie Brown and Johnathan Wileman giving their final vows to each other.
Upon reading her vows, Sophie, 26, described her wedding day to Johnathan as “incredible” and that she “instantly trusted” him. Despite this, she said that the couple haven’t had the “easiest of rides” but agreed to give their marriage a chance. Then, it was her husband's turn and things seemed to be headed in a positive direction as the 32-year-old joiner beamed upon hearing his wife's decision.
Earlier in the episode, Johnathan had said that “coming to the decision has been a constant battle," and just as we were about to find out where his head was at, the end credits started to roll before a preview of the following episode.

The clip featured Johnathan saying: “I was always the guy who had to feel everything. Unfortunately, I wasn’t feeling that with you.” Viewers immediately took to social media to express their anger that the ceremony was cut short at such a crucial moment.
"SERIOUSLY E4 WHAAAAAAAT!!!!!! Wait till TOMORROW NOOOOOOOOO," wrote one viewer, desperate to find out Johnathan's choice.
Another agreed and said: "A WHOLE HOUR OF WAITING FOR IT TO END ON A TOMORROW NIGHT."
A third likened the show to a certain BBC One soap opera, writing: "A cliffhanger? This ain’t EastEnders."
And a fourth was a little less enthused about the programme and said: "They’re ‘dragging’ this out, aren’t they..?"
It came after both George and April and Zoe and Jenna had vowed to stay together when they took part in their final commitment ceremonies. The next MAFS installment will see the outcome of Sophie and Johnathan's vows. Jordan and Chanita and Whitney and Matt will also make their decisions before a double reunion episode next week, which concludes the series on Tuesday, October 18.
Married at First Sight continues on E4 at 9pm on Thursday, October 13
