Married at First Sight is full of drama - from brides and grooms cheating to accusations flying across the dinner table. One groom who has made a name for himself for bringing the drama is Thomas and he has split opinion on social media over another explosive dinner party.
Thomas is married to Adrian and has not shied away from airing his views while at the dinner parties and other gatherings. Earlier in the series, he dramatically deemed April a 'liar'.
And on Monday, October 3, viewers saw him voice his opinion about new couple Sophie and Johnathan after he and Adrian wrote them an anonymous letter about their relationship. All of the brides and grooms received anonymous letters from other newlyweds in during the latest dinner party, which also saw the return of Whitney and Matt as a new couple. Johnathan and Sophie's letter aluded to Johnathan's comment about him not wanting to be with Sophie if her weight increased.
During a heated exchange where Thomas told fellow groom George "never tell me to shush" and that he would never speak to him again, Thomas also caused drama when he told Johnathan: "No man should ever comment on a woman's body, period" before snapping his fingers.
Many viewers were split by Thomas' actions, with some supporting the groom and others not a fan of his statements. One said: "He's had a good run on this show, but my god I've been tired of Thomas's OTT antics since the first week. The way he talks to everyone." followed by an angry face emoji.
Another added: "And Thomas. What bad vibes. So much drama and unnecessary drama he brings. It’s not even entertaining. It’s just self absorbed." A third said: "Jeez, Thomas is so draining, the guy has a lot of anger towards April & George for no good reason!"
Others defended Thomas and believed he was speaking the truth. One said: “No man should ever comment on a woman’s body, period”. Perfectly put, Thomas!" And another said: "Say what you want about Thomas being overly dramatic or childish etc, but he MADE this season!"
A third said: "Don't ever tell me to shush" go on Thomas." The dinner party ended with a lot of tension between three couples - Thomas and Adrian, Johnathan and Sophie, and April and George.
