Married at First Sight UK reunion sees contestant storm out as dinner party descends into chaos

Married at First Sight UK was back on screens tonight [Sunday, December 11] as the brides and grooms of series 2022 and 2021 reunited for a Christmas special. And while the festive episode started out uncharacteristically calm, the arrival of two late additions saw the dinner party descend into chaos.

Those in attendance from this year's series included happy couple Zoe and Jenna, Chanita, Pjay, Duka, Thomas, Adrian, and Jonathan, while Alexis and Amy, from last year's series, also joined. Jordan, who was married to Chanita in the experiment, arrived late and tried to make admends with his ex after the pair revealed they had tried and failed again after the show to make it work.

Another late addition to the table was Nikita, who had an explosive marriage to Ant in 2021 and was removed from the experiment early. As the cast sat down for their Christmas dinner, they received a golden envelope explaining they would have to pull crackers and answer the questions inside.

Reading Jordan's question, Zoe asked: "Jordan, where do you stand on your relationship with Chanita," to which he responded: "At the moment I'm aware and I acknowledge how she's feeling, I understand it's very raw and I need to tread very carefully."

Turning to Chanita, he continued: "I think off the back of that now I need to be logical, don't be imposing, manage my emotions and think about you more in this whole situation. It's kind of picking up the pieces really, a lot of it is shattered."

Jordan then said he was trying to "manage the mess the best he can," before Nikita jumped in and said: "Whatever you're thinking and feeling, even though you don't want to hurt her feelings, the worst thing you can do is lie and lead somebody on.

"I'm not saying that you're doing that but leading somebody on and making out like it's a fairytale because girls get more emotional with things like that." She added: "Because if you leave this Christmas party and feel different, you tell her that and be open."

"I feel like you have more information than we do Nikita," Jenna commented before Zoe said to the cameras: "Poking your nose in somebody else's business and saying 'you should do this and you should do that,' that's not okay."

Nikita then explained she was good friends with Jordan as they are from the same area and knew one another before the show. Away from the table, Chanita said: "I think Nikita needs to stay out of mine and Jordan's relationship, she's not as close to Jordan as she likes to make out."

Back at dinner things were starting to get heated as Chanita said: "F**king hell you don't keep your gob shut do you Jordan." Overhearing the comment, Nikita hit back: "I don't mean to be a b***h but I think you're getting your back up a little bit."

"If I had a problem with you I'd address that," Chanita responded before the table descended into chaos with many of the contestants shouting at one another. As things esculated, Zoe could be heard saying to Nikita: "Don't f**king talk to her like that."

Away from the table, Chanita asked Jordan: "Why did you tell her everything? She needs to shut her mouth, she talks about things she doesn't know about."

"What's just happened?" a perplexed Thomas asked, as Chanita offered: "I think she's been waiting for that moment." The narrator could then be heard saying: "With emotions running high at the Christmas dinner, Thomas steps out to check on Nikita."

In tears, Nikita told him: "You know I didn't want to go in there tonight and argue with people and get myself upset and all that s**t and I've got it from Alexis, I've got it from Zoe, I've got it from Chanita. People think because I'm so feisty and confident and I don't take no s**t that I'm not bothered about what people think."

She added: "I'm a nice person, I've got a good heart and I don't need to prove the world that." As Thomas urged her to let it go and move on, Nikita said she was diffusing the situation by leaving. "I don't need this in my life, I'm absolutely gone," she told cameras before storming out.

Viewers were baffled by the way things went, with one writing: "What just happened?" and another commenting: "That escalated quickly." For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
