Married at First Sight's Matt 'maybe should have watched some TV' before joining show

A Married at First Sight star has voiced his "regrets" over taking part in the popular reality TV show. Matt Murray, 32, has caused quite a stir following recent episodes of the E4 show.

Matt was paired with Devon mum Gemma Rose but the two have been struggling to connect due to her constant sexual remarks and innuendos, as reported by Yorkshire Live. Viewers closely followed their marriage storyline and were shocked to find out Matt was harbouring a "secret crush" on fellow contestant Whitney.

Matt previously hit out at Channel 4 producers over the way he has been portrayed and the clips have been edited. He also took to social media last night to tell fans why he took part in the show, given that he has never watched any reality TV before.

He implied things might have turned out differently if he had had more experience. He wrote: "Why did I go on MAFS if I don't watch reality TV...I had a message on Instagram March 14 in 2022...Would you like to marry a stranger...We think we have someone for you...The weddings are not legally binding.

"My thoughts... If they think they have found someone, why not go find out. Worst case scenario, you learn about yourself an (sic) it's and experience. Having never watched reality TV...

"It would be interesting to go in there with no preconceived ideas of what's to come. Maybe I should have watched some TV first."

It comes after rumours of Matt and Whitney cheating on their partners during the couples' getaway.
