Married at First Sight (MAFS) star Tayah Victoria has urged people to stay safe, after she and her partner were forced to leave their home after a field fire which ravaged a neighbours' back garden.
Multiple wildfires have erupted across the UK as Britain records it's hottest day ever, with Tayah and fellow MAFT star Adam Aveling sharing the news that their garden had a lucky escape, after they were evacuated from their homes due to a fire nearby.
Both TV stars, who appeared in the UK version of Married at First Sight last year and are expecting a child together, documented the terrifying ordeal at their Darlington home, on social media.
In his first post, Adam shared a video of his garden, with plumes of smoke billowing nearby.
He wrote: "Fields on fire at the back of my house. Wow it's hot."
As the day went on, Adam shared that the police had arrived to evacuate the couple and other nearby residents.
In one shocking photo, visibility on the roads nearby was poor thanks to smoke and ash in the air, which had an orange tinge.
"This photo is literally outside my house," he wrote.
Later, Adam shared an update, writing on an Instastory video: "Fires have mainly gone out.
"Luckily stopped just before my shed. Some neighbours weren't so lucky."
The clip panned to a back garden a few doors down, which showed burned and charred fences, and a garden which had been destroyed.
Tayah shared Adam's update on her own Instagram account, writing: "Just a bit of a scary afternoon, stay safe people," followed by a praying hands emoji.
Earlier on, she had shared a photo of huge plumes of smoke nearby, saying: "Please stay safe everyone, we have a field fire right by our house at the moment," again finishing the post with a praying hands emoji.
Britain is enduring the hottest day on record as temperatures reached 40C just before 1pm today.
Parts of the UK will see possible highs of 41C making the country hotter than Jamaica, the Maldives and Barbados - as Transport Secretary Grant Shapps conceded the UK's transport network cannot cope with the extreme heat.
London Fire Brigade is fighting two separate wildfires started in the Shirley Hills near Croydon whilst a huge plume of smoke could be seen near the Dartford Crossing this afternoon in another suspected wildfire.
Meanwhile, a firefighter has described conditions at the fire in Wennington as “absolute hell”.
Jonathan Smith, assistant commissioner at LFB, told Sky News many of the fires are spread over wide areas and began because the ground is “tinderbox dry”.
He continued: “So even a small fire will develop very, very quickly if it’s not tackled effectively and efficiently in its early stages.
At least nine fire services in England have declared major incidents today, as they battle grass fires.
Major incidents have been declared in London, Suffolk, Lincolnshire, South Yorkshire, Norfolk, Hertfordshire, Humberside, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire.
