The Marlins were swept out of the playoffs by the Phillies on Wednesday night, but one of their biggest fans who is usually seen sitting right behind home plate during big games was nowhere near Philadelphia to take in the two games.
Instead, Marlins Man was in Milwaukee, where he watched both of the wild-card games between the Diamondbacks and Brewers.
Many fans watching those Brewers-Diamondbacks games were confused to see the famous fan, who in real life is a Florida lawyer named Laurence Leavy, sitting behind home plate while his Marlins were fighting for their lives in Philadelphia.
He gave this explanation earlier in the week:
Well covid 19 is over

No more ballpark restrictions.
I am in Milwaukee for @Brewers vs @Dbacks
Thought was to be Marlins. Travel plans made.
Phx goes and throws 4 in a row to start best pitchers first in playoffs
Will see Marlins soon pic.twitter.com/5z9DHmhuBK
His team makes the playoffs and he can’t change his travel plans? This guy, who seemingly has had no problem spending lots of money on travel and tickets over the years, can’t figure out a way to get to Philly?
C’mon, man!
Other MLB fans were not impressed:
Oh that’s WEAK https://t.co/PTm0p73j4U

Marlins Man being at the D-Backs/Brewers game and not the, you know, MARLINS game is hilarious to me.
