The Marley Brothers: The Legacy Tour is currently underway, featuring Bob Marley's five sons - Ziggy, Stephen, Julian, Ky-Mani, and Damian. This tour marks the first time in two decades that the siblings have performed together, paying tribute to their legendary father's musical legacy of harmony and peace.
The tour, which kicked off in Vancouver and will conclude in Miami in early October, showcases the Marley Brothers performing around 30 of Bob Marley's iconic songs, including classics like “No Woman, No Cry,” “Could You Be Loved,” “Is This Love,” and “Three Little Birds.”
Ziggy Marley expressed the significance of the tour, emphasizing the importance of coming together to honor their father, who would have turned 80 in February 2025. The brothers, who have their own unique reggae styles, have found a way to blend their sounds seamlessly, showcasing a deep musical synergy developed over years of collaboration.
Julian Marley highlighted the universal appeal of Bob Marley's message, stating that it transcends barriers and resonates with people worldwide. The Marley Brothers aim to continue spreading their father's message of positivity and unity through their music.
Bob Marley, who rose from the streets of Trench Town in Jamaica to become a global reggae icon, passed away in 1981 at the age of 36. His legacy has endured through various projects, including an immersive exhibit in New York and the successful biopic “Bob Marley: One Love.”
In recognition of their contributions, the Marley Brothers were honored with a proclamation declaring September 22 as “Marley Brothers Day” in Queens, New York. Each of Bob Marley's sons has made their mark in the music industry, with Julian winning his first Grammy earlier this year, Ziggy and Stephen each holding eight Grammys, Damian with five trophies, and Ky-Mani receiving a nomination.
Aside from the tour, the brothers are also planning to work on a new album together to further promote their father's message of social justice and unity. Stephen Marley, who curated the tour's setlist, emphasized the importance of the message in their music, stating that it remains relevant and necessary in today's world.
