Marks & Spencer share how to get breakfast bagel fix after McDonald's take it off menu

If you were one of many to be left heartbroken over McDonald's breakfast announcement this week, then we might have found the perfect thing for you.

No, it's not Maccas... it's M&S.

Yes, Marks & Spencer have caused a stir online after sharing a look at their own take on McDonald's breakfast bagels, which were removed from the menu recently, along with breakfast wraps.

In a viral post on Instagram, the team at M&S said: "Did someone say BREAKFAST BAGEL?! Fear not - while there’s one that’s off the menu, you can still get your fix with this easy how-to!"

They then shared a recipe for their bagels, which includes one M&S sourdough bagel, halved and toasted, two cheese slices, one egg and one of your favourite sausages.

For reference, they used one of the M&S Best Ever Pork sausages.

They then explained how you make it for yourself and it couldn't be easier to do.

"Start by de-skinning the sausage and pressing the meat into a round patty, then pan-frying until brown," they wrote.

"Next, beat the egg, pour into a hot pan, and cook until it’s a thin omelette.

"Finally, assemble your patty, egg and cheese on top of your bagel - then DEVOUR! This is not just a breakfast bagel..."

They posted a clip of themselves making the bagel alongside this and the video has since been viewed over 100,000 times in under 24 hours.

Thousands of people also liked the post, with hundreds commenting.

One person replied: "Just as @mcdonaldsuk booted theirs out of their menu… I see you working quickly M&S!"

Another wrote: "We can do our own now!"

"These look tasty," proclaimed a third.

Someone else said: "We need to do this!! And it will be even nicer!"

"Jumping in the car to M&S right now," joked a different user.

A sixth added: "Ohh that looks lovely, my mouth's watering."
