Marks and Spencer shoppers are desperate to snap up a "bargain" festive 'melting snowman' cake after spotting it online.
High street favourite M&S boasts a dedicated following across its various social media channels. Like many retailers, the iconic British retailer consistently posts product news to keep shoppers updated on all the latest stock launches they can expect to find in store and online, while dedicated food bloggers and accounts often showcase new items to vast followings of their own.
Recently, popular food page New Foods UK shared an image of the retailer's coveted Melting Snowman Cake, causing a flurry of excitement among its 288K followers. The £15 creation is made with layers of madeira and chocolate sponge cake sandwiches, finished with vanilla buttercream and edible melting snowman decorations.

Christmas is over for another year and many festive products have already been slashed in price. Marks and Spencer's snowman cake was originally priced at £15 but was reduced to £7.50 and has since been reduced even further, currently retailing at £1.95 in some stores.
Captioning the image of the cake, New Foods UK penned: "Bargain Alert! Today we picked up this Melting Snowman Cake from M&S for just £1.95! Originally £15! Was also in date! Perfect combo of madeira & chocolate sponge! Might be worth checking your local M&S for this bargain!"
The cake proved popular on the hit social media platform, racking up more than 4K likes in less than 24 hours. Shoppers shared their thoughts in the comments section.
Rose said: "Omg we got one today for the same price, also the helter skelter one for £1.25!!" Enya said: "Oh wow what a bargain!" Mark commented: "I'm off to M&S in the morning!"
