Mark Wright rushed to Las Vegas hospital after suffering head injury needing 30 stitches

Mark Wright has revealed he left Las Vegas with an unexpected injury after hitting his head in a bathroom accident.

The 37-year-old former The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) star - who was over in Sin City for a Formula One event at the weekend - took to Instagram Stories on Monday to show off a new and painful-looking scar on his forehead.

Sitting on a plane on his way back to the UK, he explained: “I'm coming home with a little scar - I fell in the bathroom.

“I wasn't drunk, it was the middle of the night and I was half asleep. I'm all good, absolutely fine and on my way home to see the wife.”

He concluded: “Now it's home time, Christmas, and I can't wait to see my loved ones.”

Mark Wright looked sorry for himself as he sported a bandage in hospital in a picture posted online (Instagram)

The reality star-turned-TV presenter, who is married to former Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan, also shared a post by Steve Weiser, the Las Vegas Bureau Chief at Extra TV, which included pictures of himself in hospital.

In one snap, he could be seen with a bandage around his head looking thoroughly sorry for himself.

Mr Weiser wrote alongside his post: “Another @f1lasvegas in the books and this one left its mark @wrighty_

“Nothing was gonna stop this guy from delivering the goods for @extratv and @vegas. Not even a visit to the ER and 30+ stitches.”

Wright consoled himself on the flight home by watching classic Christmas movie Home Alone.

If that doesn’t leave him feeling festive, one look at his £3.5million Essex mansion should.

The day before, they shared a picture on their dedicated home Instagram account showing it all decked out in lights for the holidays.

The clip starts at the front door of the sprawling property, showing it festooned in white fairy lights around the windows and the length of the roof.

There are also lit-up Christmas trees and reindeers to complete their winter wonderland.
