Though the Charlotte Hornets are still searching for their next head coach, they found their big man of the future.
The Hornets selected Duke center Mark Williams with the No. 15 pick in the 2022 NBA draft on Thursday night.
Williams spoke to the media following the selection about his excitement to play alongside a point guard like LaMelo Ball.
“Very excited. Honestly he’s a great point guard, has great vision, can make plays, and scoring. Can do a little bit of everything. So I’m really excited for that.”
Williams comes in as an elite rim-runner on day one for the Hornets and with his wingspan and ability to move around the court, LaMelo will create plenty of easy buckets for the former Blue Devil.
