Mark Williams gives graphic description of condition after toilet dash five mins into match

Mark Williams has given a graphic description of his condition after he was forced to make a dash for the toilet just five minutes into his match at the UK Championship. Williams took on fellow Welshman Jamie Clark on Tuesday but things did not go to plan for the world No. 6.

Five minutes into the opening frame, Williams was seen making a quick exit from the table by taking one of the earliest stomach breaks in the sport's history. As a result, the 47-year-old was struggling with a stomach illness which went on to have a huge impact on his performance.

After returning from his early dash, Williams returned to win the opener, before the Welsh pair exchanged frames to leave them deadlocked at 3-3 after six.

The effects of Williams' illness soon caused problems though, as the struggling world No. 6 went on to lose three straight frames to lose the clash 6-3. In the days after his defeat, the Welshman has given an update on his condition and it does not sound pretty.

No doubt making his followers squirm, he took to Twitter to write: "Day 5. Still coming out of me like if you emptying an old radiator." This was not the first time Williams had given a graphic account though.

Speaking post-match, the 47-year-old put the problem down to food poisoning and once again may have given too much information for some fans' liking. "It must be [food poisoning]." he admitted.

"I went out there with a pair of boxers on, by frame three they were gone, that’s all I can say really. If it wasn’t the UK Championships I’m not sure I’d have come back out after the interval, to be honest.

"It’s a bit disappointing for myself because I’ve been practicing hard while I’m up here and hitting the ball really well. But when you go out there and you’re shaking like a leaf all over your body, you’ve got no chance. I tried, but just no chance. I’ve got to go and find my boxers in the bin somewhere now."
