Mark O'Hara insists St Mirren won't underestimate Kilmarnock as midfield general predicts a 'battle'

Midfield general Mark O’Hara insists his Buddies won’t be taking Kilmarnock for granted when the teams face off in Paisley.

While the Ayrshire side have picked up just two points on the road all season, Derek McInnes’ men are battling hard for top-flight survival and will be desperate to pick up a positive result at the SMiSA Stadium.

O’Hara, who spent four seasons at Rugby Park, says he won’t underestimate the challenge Killie pose tomorrow afternoon as St Mirren look to secure the top-six spot the free-scoring midfielder feels they deserve for their hard work this season.

When asked about Kilmarnock’s poor away record ahead of tomorrow's clash in Paisley, O’Hara said: “That’s irrelevant as they’re fighting for their lives just now.

“And we’re fighting to get into the top six. It’s going to be a battle, almost like a cup final.

“To get top six would mean everything. On the evidence of this season, we feel that it’s what we deserve.

“We’ll be doing everything we can to achieve that. We’ll be well prepped like we usually are.

“It will be like a cup final build-up and I’m really looking forward to it.

“The stadium’s going to be full and hopefully we can get over the line.”
