Mark Feehily has given fans an update on his health as he recovers from a nasty bout of pneumonia.
The singer had to withdraw from Westlife’s Wildest Dreams tour, currently touring the UK, after he was diagnosed with pneumonia last week. Mark was initially hospitalised but has since been recuperating at home.
The 42-year-old uploaded a video on Instagram of him waving while on bed rest. He was positive about his health in the post, but admitted that being kept away from the band’s ongoing tour was weighing him down.

Mark wrote: “I’m sticking to the doctor’s plan but am slowly going bonkers being away from the tour and staying in bed all day. I want to be back on stage ASAP but the doctor is telling me to be patient and recover 100% so I can move on and put it all behind me.”
The Sligo native thanked all his fans for reaching out and sending him get well soon messages as he battled the nasty dose. Other famous faces, including Nadine Coyle, wished him a speedy recovery in the comments section.
Westlife’s Wild Dreams tour was initially scheduled to take place in 2020, but had to be postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The band will perform minus Mark in cities such as London, Cardiff and Belfast in the coming days.
The tour will conclude in Ireland with a series of concerts planned in Dublin’s 3Arena. Mark’s illness is a second blow to band morale amid their high profile tour, as Nicky Byrne previously suffered a nasty fall from the stage during a live show in Glasgow.
