Mark Feehily forced to pull out of Westlife gig at last minute under doctor's orders

Mark Feehily was forced to pull out of a Westlife gig at the last minute under doctor’s orders.

The singer apologised to fans after he failed to join his bandmates for their opening show in Newcastle on Friday night.

Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne and Kian Egan arrived on stage later than scheduled as a threesome, explaining that Mark fell ill before the concert.

It’s the second blow to the band’s Wild Dreams tour, after Nicky Byrne injured himself when he fell through the stage in Scotland.

Westlife packed out the Aviva Stadium in the summer and are booked for a second night at Newcastle’s Utlita Arena as part of their tour.

Mark, who wowed viewers as Robobunny on The Masked Singer earlier this year, took to Instagram to issue a statement to fans about what happened.

Around the same time Westlife were due on stage, Mark posted an explanation by way of a note on his Insta grid.

The singer wrote: “I’m so sorry to tell you I won’t be able to join the boys on stage tonight.

“I felt really feverish after the Manchester gig, then the same again this morning, but a whole lot worse.

“Been with the doctor and he says there’s no way in the world I should do the show tonight.

“We decided the show will go ahead, please have the time of your life.

“I wish my three brothers the best gig ever and I’ll be there in spirit.”
