Billionaire and celebrity investor Mark Cuban shed some light on his own take on career advice in a recent guest spot on ReThinking With Adam Grant. When asked about the worst piece of career advice he had ever gotten, Cuban had an answer at the ready.

This is not the first time Cuban has given this advice, so it's clearly something he believes in strongly. In 2018, Cuban spoke at the Amazon Insights for Entrepreneurs series and shared a similar sentiment.

“I am going to give you one other secret: The one thing in life that you can control is your effort,” says Cuban.
