Mark Clattenburg has slammed Jurgen Klopp's behaviour during Sunday's 4-3 victory over Tottenham Hotspur as unacceptable and is hopeful the Football Association will make an example of the Liverpool boss.
Racing over to John Brooks after the Reds' late winner, Klopp received a yellow card from Paul Tierney for his overzealous celebration in the face of the fourth official. The German later accused Tierney of saying something 'not OK' to him upon brandishing this booking.
Doubling down on his dislike of Tierney after the full-time whistle, Klopp asked 'I really don't know what he has against us' in respect of decisions made by the Premier League referee not only in Sunday's game but in other Liverpool games overseen by Tierney.

Klopp is now likely to face punishment from the FA for his post-match comments and touchline antics, and former Premier League referee Clattenburg wants the Reds' boss to be adequately punished.
"Jurgen Klopp is a role model and this transfers all the way down to grassroots,” he told ESPN. “If we think this is acceptable behaviour after they’ve just scored a winning goal to make it 4-3, to harass the fourth official like it is and accept it, then we’re completely wrong. We need to look at this.
“For me, Jurgen Klopp should have been clearly dismissed from the technical area and should be looking at a touchline ban or a fine, whatever the FA decide. That’s not the referee’s problem, that’s up to the FA and how they deal with it.
"If we think this is acceptable behaviour, when we're seeing it all the way down in grassroots, it's clearly nonsense. We have to now act, and I wish the referee had sent him off to set an example. We can accept the coach having a word with the fourth official, maybe getting upset, but he clearly ran from distance. He’s clearly got a problem with Paul Tierney, as we know, and therefore he’s vented his anger at the poor fourth official. For me, this is not acceptable.”
