Mark Bradley: The Braves have been mediocre. That shouldn’t last much longer.

The Braves have played 11 series. They’ve won two, lost five, split four. Their longest winning and losing streaks of 2022 are two games. As of Monday morning, they held third place in the National League East.

The Braves are 10-11 at home, 6-8 on the road. They were 10-12 in April; they’re 6-7 in May. They’ve been outscored by 14 runs. They’re 4-3 in one-run games, 3-4 in games decided by five-plus runs. They’re 14th among 30 MLB clubs in runs, 24th in ERA. So far, they’ve been mediocre.

We trot out the obligatory disclaimer. The Braves have played 35 games. That’s 21.6% of their schedule. Memorial Day, regarded as the season’s first checkpoint, is two weeks away. The Braves have spent one day – April 9, when they rose to 2-1 – above .500.
