Mark Bonner says Cambridge United will aim to 'grind out' a result against Bolton Wanderers this weekend amid a drop in form and a lack of numbers in their squad at the moment.
The Whites travel to the Abbey Stadium this Saturday aiming to return to winning ways. They travel to take on the U's in League One on the back of losses to Oxford United and most recently Barnsley in the FA Cup last weekend.
Bolton still sit sixth in the table, however, and know they will maintain their place in the play-offs with victory. Cambridge meanwhile are 18th in the standings, but five points clear of the drop zone.

The U's are still in the hat for the next round of the FA Cup, having been held to a draw against Curzon Ashton last weekend, and have a replay against the non-league side to come. Next up for Cambridge though is Wanderers.
U's boss Bonner outlined the difficulties his side are currently experiencing with a lack of bodies to call upon. Midfielder Adam May is among those out and will be missing for the rest of the season owing to a ruptured ACL.
Bonner feels his side are not at their fluid best at the moment compared to the start of the season, and the U's must get the best out of the current players they have at their disposal. He is targeting grinding out results against Wanderers this weekend and beyond.
He said: “Until January these are the 17 or 18 players that we’ve got fit and there’s nobody else to come back in that. In January we know we might be able to add and bring in some new players in and might be able to get one or two of the injured players back.
“But right now, it’s about getting the best out of the players that we’ve got and one of the problems with that is we have to use games a little bit to try and get people through them.
“We are using games a little bit to just try and find a way through it. We know we’re going to have to grind out some results and it won’t be pretty because we’re nowhere near our fluid best at the minute.
“You compare us now to where we were at the start of the season, we’re a long way from that in terms of the fluidity and confidence that we were playing with. We’ve got to find that and the only way we’re going to do it is by getting some results and grinding a few out.
“We’ll have to get ready to try and do that against Bolton next week because it’s tough for us at the minute, but we’ve got to stick together and get through that period and then if we can, we’ll come out the other side of that in good shape.
“We’ve got to get the players as ready as we can for the weeks and games we’ve got coming up. We’ve got three home games now, Bolton, Curzon, Accrington, three in November and then the following week is the second round of the FA Cup, so there’s potential for us to be there if we do a job in the replay.
“We’ll have a few training days this week to try and get ready for the Bolton game and then it’ll be another heavy schedule for us, but it is what it is. Players have got to dig in and find their level again.”
