Mario Tennis Fever Launches This Week - Cinematic Trailer

Nintendo is bringing Mario back to the court this week with Mario Tennis Fever landing exclusively on Switch 2 for $69.99 on Thursday, February 12. The new entry blends the shots longtime fans know with added wrinkles tied to the Fever Gauge, giving players chances to unleash big time Fever Shots when the moment feels right. Fever Rackets push things even further, packing special effects that might freeze the court, shrink opponents with mushrooms or create a shadow double to keep rallies alive. With 30 rackets and 38 playable characters, it is a deep group and there should be no trouble finding a style that clicks.

There are plenty of ways to get matches going. Tournament mode features commentary from a Talking Flower, while Trial Towers lines up different objectives and Mix it Up tosses in strange rules and Wonder Effects to keep everyone guessing. Those wanting human competition can create their own games in Online Rooms or dive into Ranked play. Swing Mode offers something different by letting the Joy-Con 2 act like an actual racket, encouraging players to get moving a bit.

Adventure mode adds a light story twist. After a run-in with monsters on a remote island, Mario and friends end up turned into babies. Players guide them as they rebuild their tennis abilities and take on the island’s threats in hopes of getting everyone back to normal.
