Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi’s Wuthering Heights is now available to watch at home

The film smashed box office records - (Warner Bros)

Released on Valentine’s Day 2026, Emerald Fennell’s divisive Wuthering Heights adaptation smashed box office records and inspired collective yearning among cinema goers. Now, you can swoon over the doomed love story at home.

The movie, which received a mixed critical reception and an average of 2.8 stars on Letterbox, has finally arrived on streaming platforms. Filmed on the Yorkshire Moors, Fennell’s stylised interpretation of the classic novel featured a haunting Charli XCX soundtrack, a blood-red colour palette and glossy, gothic costumes.

Published in 1874, Emily Bronte’s book challenged Victorian morality in its themes of love, passion and revenge – the film is similarly mired in controversy, with critics lambasting Fennell for downplaying the novel’s commentary on class and race. Instead, she focuses on the bodice-ripping intensity of Cathy and Heathcliff’s relationship.

“With its title stylised in quotation marks, and a director’s statement that it’s intended to capture her experience of reading the book aged 14, it uses the guise of interpretation to gut one of the most impassioned, emotionally violent novels ever written, and then toss its flayed skin over whatever romance tropes seem most marketable,” The Independent’s film critic, Clarisse Loughrey, said.

Whether you loved or loathed it, it’s undoubtedly the most talked-about and polarising movie of the year. If you’re yet to watch Wuthering Heights, or want to indulge in the tragic love story again, here’s how to stream the movie at home.

Where to watch Wuthering Heights at home

Wuthering Heights is famously set in the brutal but beautiful landscape of the Yorkshire Moors. The movie opens with Mr Earnshaw (Martin Clumes) bringing a young, abandoned boy home to Thrushcross Grange. His daughter Cathy names him Heathcliff and the two develop a volatile but close bond as children. Flash forward to adulthood, and Cathy must decide between her innate and primal love for Heathcliff or the wealth and stability that their new neighbour, Edgar Linton, offers in marriage.

Most will be familiar with the novel’s tragic end, but Fennell freshens up the source material with emotional turmoil, steamy scenes and toxic, violent love. Thanks to Elordi’s brooding, handsome Heathcliff, the cinema unsurprisingly audience skewed female. But now even the most reluctant husbands can watch at home.

You can now rent or buy Wuthering Heights on Amazon Prime and Apple from £15.99.
