Marcus Rashford told simple change can rekindle best Manchester United form

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has been advised to make a simple change to rekindle his best form for the Old Trafford giants. Rashford has endured a frustrating time for United this campaign and was omitted from the latest England squad as a result.

In his absence, the Three Lions are set to take on Switzerland and Ivory Coast in two friendly matches. Rashford has not played for England since his heart-breaking penalty miss in the Euro 2020 showpiece last summer.

Since then, the academy graduate has recovered from shoulder surgery. His comeback initially brought three goals in four early-season appearances.

However, it has been a real struggle for Rashford since then. Indeed, the 24-year-old has only totted-up a further two goals and many of his recent outings have come from the bench as Ralf Rangnick showed trust in £72.9million signing Jadon Sancho and youngster Anthony Elanga.

Speaking as part of a promotion for bookmakers Coral, pundit and former England player Joe Cole said: "Marcus Rashford's form at Manchester United and England hasn't been to the level that we know he can reach recently. It was the right decision to omit him from this squad. He has to get back to finding the joy in football.

"He has done some amazing things off the pitch and he continues to be an outstanding human being. Now when he steps on the pitch he needs to get back to what he loves, remember how he got to where he has and play without any fear or worry.

"When he finds that joy and love of the game again his level of performance will rise and he will be back playing for England. I've no doubt about that."
