Marcus Rashford urges Manchester United fans to 'appreciate' Christian Eriksen

Marcus Rashford has praised Christian Eriksen after the Dane provided the assist for the former's 100th goal for Manchester United.

Eriksen's delightful right-footed cross was met by the on-rushing Rashford who powered a header past Alphonse Areola in the West Ham goal to give the Reds the lead in the 38th minute at Old Trafford. It was a marginal advantage which United were able to hold onto until full-time.

Post-match all eyes were on Rashford as he moved to joint 20th in the all-time list of United goalscorers by bringing up his century for the club. However, on Tuesday the 25-year-old asked his Twitter followers to send some love to his teammate for the assist.

"I know a lot has been said about me scoring that header for my 100th club goal but can we take a moment to appreciate the ball from Christian Eriksen," he said. The midfielder arrived at Old Trafford on a free in the summer after his short-term contract at Brentford expired.

Since joining the club, Ten Hag has opted to play the 30-year-old in a deeper midfield position akin to the role Frenkie de Jong would have been operated in had he signed from Barcelona. Although he has yet to score for his new club, Eriksen has grabbed five assists in all competitions and won United's September player of the month competition.
