Marcus Rashford's brother Dane has domestic violence charges 'dropped' in US

Domestic violence charges have been dropped against the sports agent older brother of footballer Marcus Rashford, according to his lawyer.

Dane Rashford was reportedly arrested by police in Miami Beach, Florida, on October 20.

On October 24, his charge was registered as "misdemeanour of battery", defined as domestic violence, according to the Telegraph.

The 31-year-old was said to have pleaded not guilty, and was to appear in court for a hearing on November 27, the Telegraph reported at the time.

His lawyer, Alex Spiro, said on Monday the charges against him were "quickly dismissed" and described the incident as a "misunderstanding".

"There have been numerous reports about Dane Rashford, the brother of Manchester United and England footballer, Marcus Rashford, being arrested in Florida last year," said Mr Spiro.

"We want to make it very clear that the charges were quickly dismissed and Mr Rashford did not even have to appear in court. He and his partner are pleased that this misunderstanding is now firmly behind them."

Dane Rashford is a director of D N May Sports Management.

His younger brother, England and Manchester United star Marcus Rashford, is listed on the firm's website among athletes it represents.
