Marcus Rashford injury: Erik ten Hag confirms Manchester United striker set to be FIT to face Newcastle

Marcus Rashford is set to be fit for Manchester United’s game with Newcastle on Sunday.

Erik ten Hag confirmed the forward’s latest condition as he looks to shrug off a toe injury picked up in the recent win over Fulham, which had ruled him out of England action over the past week.

Man United head to Tyneside for a huge Premier League fixture in the race for a top-four finish.

On Friday, manager Ten Hag addressed the media and set out the latest update on Rashford’s fitness after he returned to full training.

He said: “I have good hope, he trained but he had to have some treatment, he had to do some individual training.

“Today he joined in with the group. We have one more day. I have a good hope he will be available.”

Man United travel to St James’ Park for a 4.30pm kick-off BST on Sunday with their grip on a top-four spot somewhat loose after a couple of poor results in the Premier League.

Rashford, however, has been in scintillating form with Ten Hag also discussing his role in the forward’s improvements.

“It's not about just a talk, I'm not Harry Potter,” he stated.

“It's like a process, so there are many tools you're putting in in your management to let people get to best form, in best shape.

“So it's about the line-up, the way of playing, it's about coaching, informal talks, it's about coaches working with him and especially it's a lot about himself because he's the one and he has the skills.”
