Marcus Rashford injury boost as Harry Kane drops hint on future amid Manchester United interest

United forward Marcus Rashford returns to training

Marcus Rashford returned to Manchester United training on Monday after withdrawing from the England squad for their games against Italy and Ukraine.

United's top scorer picked up a knock in Erik ten Hag's side's final match before the international break and had to go off in the 83rd minute of the 3-1 FA Cup win over Fulham. Rashford had initially been named in the England squad for the first round of Euro 2024 qualifiers but had to pull out due to the injury.

With players filtering back to Carrington this week following their international commitments, Rashford also returned on Monday after a holiday to begin his rehabilitation.

Here are all the details.

Kane has dropped another hint about his future

Earlier this week, Harry Kane became England's all-time top goalscorer, with the Tottenham striker converting from the penalty spot as the Three Lions secured a 2-1 victory over Italy in their opening Euro 2024 qualifier. Having achieved one major record, the 29-year-old is now focused on the next.

Kane is being linked with a move away from Spurs at the end of the season, and MEN Sport understands he is Erik ten Hag's prime striker target to reinforce the United attack in the summer. It is thought that the Dutchman is intent on signing the Tottenham talisman as he approaches the final year of his contract.

While Bayern Munich are expected to be in the market for a striker - and are another realistic option for Kane should he choose to move abroad - United are realistically the only Premier League club the Spurs ace could join in the summer. They are likely to have qualified for the Champions League, not to mention their priority signing being a high-quality centre forward.

United's search for a striker has been well-documented and will only continue to heat up as we edge closer to the summer transfer window.

Erik ten Hag has made it a priority to add extra firepower to his front line, having lost patience with Anthony Martial and grown overly reliant on the goalscoring of wide man Marcus Rashford.

There would appear to be two leading candidates for the role in the shape of elite options Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen, but a player of their quality comes with a club-record price-tag.
