Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has detailed how exactly Benni McCarthy has improved his game since his arrival at the club in the summer.
McCarthy joined the Reds in July 2022 and arrived as a specialist forwards coach in Erik ten Hag's backroom team. The former Blackburn Rovers striker has been working closely with Rashford this season and the England ace has been in scintillating form for United.
Rashford has registered 26 goals and nine assists in 42 matches in all competitions this term, including in the Carabao Cup final as Ten Hag's men won their first trophy since 2017 with a 2-0 win over Newcastle United.

While United have been impressive in recent months - and are still in the hunt for Europa League and FA Cup glory this term - Rashford has suggested that they are still nowhere near where McCarthy wants them to be.
"I think he has done a good job," Rashford told SuperSport. "It's always good for us to have a particular coach that concentrates on us as a forwards group. We have worked more as a team going forward which has led us to creating more chances and scoring more goals.
"So, it’s still early days and Benni will tell you himself his aspirations are much bigger than what we've done so far. He keeps on pushing us, keeps to try and get us to improve."
Rashford also insisted that McCarthy has been great with him since he arrived at Old Trafford last summer. The 25-year-old revealed that he analyses his performances with the coach and discusses ways in which he can improve.
He added: "Benni has been great with me. Like I said before, with all the forward lads and you have to remember that Benni is part of a full coaching system so everyone plays their roles… so Benni is actually on top of what we need.
"Yes, his relationship with me is very good. We speak a lot, we are always analysing games and showing me ways to improve. You know, small things that can help me make more chances, more goals, maybe create space for other players as well. We are doing a lot of work."
United's top goalscorer will be keen to get on the scoresheet when the Reds take on Real Betis in the second leg of their Europa League last-16 tie. Ten Hag's men boast a 4-1 aggregate lead after cruising to a comfortable win at Old Trafford last week.
