Marcus Rashford equalled a 64-year record with his late winner for Manchester United in Saturday's enthralling Manchester derby.
Rashford, 25, has been in inspired form this season working under Erik ten Hag and was on the spot to bag the winning goal in United's 2-1 triumph over Manchester City. The Premier League champions had taken the lead early in the second-half through Jack Grealish before two goals in four minutes from Bruno Fernandes and Rashford completed the turnaround for United, who are now just a point behind their bitter rivals in the table.
The England star has now plundered 16 goals and registered six assists in 26 appearances for United this term; and his latest strike saw the academy graduate equal a record that has stood since the 1950s.
Rashford's clinical finish after neat work from Alejandro Garnacho means that the striker has become the first Manchester United player to score in nine consecutive home games since Dennis Viollet in 1959.
The forward has flourished under the guidance of Ten Hag following a turbulent campaign last year and is now the figurehead of a new-look attack. But he was quick to praise Garnacho, who has caught the eye in recent weeks, for the work he did in the build-up to the winning goal and lauded the options United have on the bench.
Speaking after the match, Rashford told BT Sport: "It’s a change of dynamics, and I think I’ve said this many times before but the options we’ve got coming off the bench.
"Even when we’ve had injuries at times this year in the forward line and sometimes everyone has played out of position - Bruno has today - but everyone puts in a shift. We’ve got players like Garnacho who are young, hungry and ready to come on and make a difference, anything is possible.

"We’re very pleased to come back, get the three points and now it’s about moving on to the next game."
There were fears that Rashford might not see the game out after he was captured looking frustrated on the Old Trafford turf favouring his hip. But it was Anthony Martial, rather than Rashford, who was replaced by Antony at the break.
When he was asked about the issue, Rashford added: "It was just a little knock [before half-time] but in games like this you just have to try and push through and thankfully I managed to do that.
"Obviously scoring the goal at the end and winning the game; that’s what we set out to do, as Bruno said that’s always the aim for every game, this game is a little bit special but either way we’re pleased to have the three points and to keep winning at Old Trafford."
