A Marchmont fish and chip shop has been named as the ‘Best in Edinburgh’ at this year’s Scottish Chippy Awards.
The largely family-run #Fish achieved the accolade for putting passion into their environmentally-friendly produce. Owned by husband and wife duo, David and Helen, the shop is known for offering a warm and welcoming experience for their guests.
The pair have said that their success is down to their amazing staff and customers and the fact that they are committed to serving the best produce from the local area.

“We're absolutely thrilled to announce that #FISH has been named ‘Best in Edinburgh’ at The Scottish Chippy Awards 2023,” David said.
“We like to think that our distinct approach to the traditional fish and chips shop was recognised by the judges.
“At #FISH, we strive to offer something different from the norm, both in terms of our extensive menu and our commitment to the community.
“This award has filled us with incredible joy and pride. Our hardworking team consistently aims for excellence to ensure our customers enjoy the finest experience possible.
“This recognition is a wonderful affirmation of their efforts and is indeed a huge pat on the back for all of us.
“In essence, our uniqueness lies in every aspect of #FISH. We stand out because of our commitment to using high-quality produce, including premium selections like lobsters and oysters.
“Furthermore, we're dedicated to making a positive impact on the community, particularly through our sustainable, eco-friendly packaging.
“Customers can look forward to the most diverse selection of seafood in any fish and chip shop across Scotland. If seafood isn't your preference, worry not; we've mirrored our entire menu with delicious vegan alternatives as well.
“Being a largely family-run business, our team shares a deep sense of gratification and delight.
“Having their efforts officially acknowledged through this award has further strengthened their pride and commitment to our shared vision.
“Though we have many standout dishes, customer favourites tend to be our Crispy Monkfish Bites and our sumptuous Halibut, ideally complemented with our fantastic chips and a side of minted mushy peas.
“Given that 30 per cent of our sales are vegan, the vegan community would probably vote for our Tofish, accompanied by chips and a side of delectable vegan 'wings'!”
